We often hear cautions about eating watermelon—that it is high glycemic, full of sugar, mostly water, not very nutritious, etc. Right? WRONG! While watermelons are mostly water—90% or so, they are also full of vitamins A, B6, C, lycopene, antioxidants and minerals. Remember hearing about the lycopene in tomatoes? Watermelon, another red-colored fruit, is chuck FULL of this powerful phytonutrient!
